BBQ on the Bank Team Application

Register your team to compete for the BEST brisket in Northeast Texas! Join us on Saturday, July 21st in conjunction with Quake on Town Lake for a BBQ cook-off! Prize money will be awarded to 1st-3rd place briskets and a "People's Choice" brisket will be crowned!

BBQ Information and Rules

  • You will be required to provide and cook 20 lbs. of brisket. You will be required to cook 2 whole chickens donated by Pilgrim’s. You have the option of providing and adding 10lbs. of cook’s choice: Pork or Ribs

  • Awards will be given as follows: 1st place– 20% of total entry fees 2nd place– 15% of total entry fees 3rd place– 10% of total entry fees

  • People’s Choice Award will be given to the team with the most people’s choice tickets and will receive a trophy.

  • Event Schedule:

  • Friday, July 20th: Teams may check in and receive their camp location. All meat must be inspected before cooking between 1:00pm and 9:00pm Friday, July 20th. Meat must be in original store packaging.

  • Saturday, July 21st: 8:00am- Mandatory Cook's Meeting 10:00am- Meat Ready for Judging 10:30am-Judging 11:00 am-Gates Open to Public 2:00pm-Awards

  • 1. Meat cannot be prepared before inspection. 2. All meat must be inspected before cooking between 1:00pm and 9:00pm Friday, July 20th. Meat must be in original store packaging. *Chickens will be provided by Pilgrim’s 3. A mandatory cook’s meeting will be held at 8:00am Saturday, July 21st. 4. Traditional smokers only. 5. All meat needs to be prepared for judging at 10:00am Saturday morning. 6. Cook teams are required to serve to the public beginning at 11:00am on Saturday. All sauces must be served on the side. 7. Contestants must supply all needed equipment and supplies, including water and electricity. 8. The Head Cook will be responsible for the conduct of their team on Friday night. *Friday night is closed to the public. 9. Each team will be responsible for the clean-up of their assigned area. 10. Each team will be given team member admission into the event. 11. No vehicles will be allowed to enter the cooking area after 7:00am Saturday morning.

  • 12. Teams cannot leave until 2:00pm Saturday or until the food runs out. 13. BBQ on the Bank committee members, Cypress Basin Hospice nor the City of Mt Pleasant will be responsible for losses resulting from theft, damage, or accidents.
