STA - BSF Fall Branch Bridge Project

1 down, 1 to go. Over 50 volunteers needed for the Fall Branch 80 ft. bridge project. Volunteers are needed to help move in new building materials and carry out the old. Free camping and free food for volunteers. The STA Annual Member Meeting will be on Friday evening and Saturday evening and we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Trails Act.

  • Project Notes 1. Free overnight camping, You must register. Some sites for RV or trailers. 2. Showers and restrooms are available. 3. The STA will provide food - Friday night pizza blast, (B, L and S) on Saturday and Breakfast, Lunch on Sunday. If you have special dietary needs please bring your own food. 4. The largest number of volunteers will be needed on Saturday to move materials in and out. You may work one day or half a day. 5. Volunteers need to be able to hike at least 2 miles. 6. No one will have to carry-push-pull materials more than 1/8 of a mile. 7. Volunteers should dress for the weather, long sleeve shirts recommended. Hiking boots / shoes required. Bring gloves, and a water bottle of some type. Water available on site. 8. Volunteers will be shuttle to and from site. 9. Youth 12 & up accompanied by a parent are eligible to participate 10. NPS and STA release forms must be complete if they were not complete for Rock Creek Project. 11. Day hikes available-Fall Color

  • The STA 10th Annual Membership Meeting will take place over the course of this weekend, in the evenings after work. This is a time when the STA staff and Board report to the membership on the work of the last year. We elect the Board of Directors for the coming year and we set our sites on the needs of the Trace. We also will celebrate our 10th Anniversary and the 50th Anniversary of the National Trails Act.

  • Want to do a little hiking while in the area? No problem. This is Fall colors season in the park, we hope, and there are plenty of trails. Once we get all the materials in, with enough volunteers that could be by mid-morining Sunday, why not take a short hike on the Sheltowee or one of the other trails in the park.
