MHAV's Advocacy Training is three days of workshops on advocacy at the state policy level and hands-on advocacy experience at the legislature to promote consumer civic engagement. This retreat focuses on skills and tools that build confidence, encourage participation and speaking in public.

  • Scholarship Terms & Conditions: Through the generosity of our donors, scholarships are available for Virginia residents who display economic need. Scholarship to an MHAV program includes tuition, lodging, meals and reimbursement of transportation expenses (one round-trip), if applicable. By accepting a scholarship, you are agreeing to attend and participate in the program to the fullest of your ability. Recipients who are unable to attend must notify MHAV of the scholarship cancellation fourteen (14) days prior to the start date of the program. Cancellation within fourteen (14) days or no-show forfeits your scholarship eligibility for one year. Scholarships are limited to one per person per program type. Please note completion of this application does not guarantee acceptance.

  • If applying for a scholarship, you must provide Mental Health America of Virginia with proof of Virginia state residency and demonstrate economic need. When submitting documentation, please black out Social Security number if shown!
