A Second Chance to Help Us Make A Difference at Fall Creek

Saturday, Nov. 17, is the date for a return to the Big South Fork NRRA and work on the Fall Creek Bridge Project. We have the materials for the last 40 ft section sitting on the trail and we need your help moving it to the bridge site. 20 to 30 volunteers needed for this one day effort from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Come for day or part of day.

  • Project Notes 1. Free overnight camping on Friday night but you must preregister. 2. Showers and restrooms are available. 3. Volunteers are responsible for their own food and drinks. Individuals should bring a water bottle or camelback. A small daypack is helpful to carry your food and water. 4. Volunteers need to be able to hike at least 2 miles and carry at least 10 lbs on your shoulder with the assistance of a second person. 5. Volunteers should dress for the weather, long sleeve shirts recommended. Hiking boots / shoes required. Bring gloves, and a water bottle of some type. Water available on site. 6. Volunteers should meet at Leatherwood Ford Trail Head after 8:30. 7. Youth 11 & up accompanied by a parent are eligible to participate 8. NPS and STA release forms must be complete if they were not complete for Rock Creek Project or Fall Branch Project Part 1. 9. Dogs are welcome but MUST be on a leash. 10. We recommend you bring some sort of padding to protect your shoulder.
