What You Need to Know!

  • PARADE TIME LINE: Staging takes place from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. at the Courthouse Annex. All parade entries must be in place at the staging area by 5:30 p.m. The parade begins at 6 p.m. - The estimated duration 30-45 minutes.

  • RULES: - All parade entries MUST enter and register at the corner of MLK and Dampier. Please note: In order to avoid street closures, we ask that you drive up MLK towards Dampier and park at the Sheriff's bldg or courthouse parking areas. Parade staff located at the parade site will direct you from there. - All entries must be decorated with a St. Patrick's theme. - Entrants are asked to stay approximately 20 ft from the entry before them. This helps to ensure safety for everyone. Candy may be handed to the audience by walkers, NOT THROWN. Injuries can occur from flying candy. - NO passing out of brochures, pamphlets, flyers, business cards, booklets or advertising, etc. during the parade. - All entries featuring children must have adult chaperones. - All entries featuring animals must include a "pooper scooper".

  • It is the responsibility of the parade entry organization/group to follow all the rules for the parade and agree to hold harmless the City of Inverness, City Officials Elected or Appointed and City Employees, Agents and Volunteers of any accidents, injuries, etc. that may be incurred during the involvement of the parade. - Be advised the CCSO has the right to intervene and curb any unsafe activity.

  • FESTIVAL HAPPENINGS: One Courthouse Square 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. - Come enjoy the festivities after the parade: *5 p.m. Vendors and Beer Open, Leprechaun Crawl begins. *6 p.m. Parade Begins. *6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. Shamrock the Block Concert featuring World Renowned Celtic Rock band "Seven Nations". *7:30 Leprechaun and Fairy Costume Contest (adults and kids). 9:00 - The festivities END!   • JUDGING: The Inverness City Council and Mayor will be awarding a ribbon for the entry who best represents the spirit of this year's St Patrick's Festival. Judging will take place in front of the courthouse and the winner will be announced onstage.
