  • In support of Governor Herbertís Declaration of DeafBlind Awareness Week (June 24th 2019), The Salt Lake Film Society (SLFS), Utah Schools for the Deaf and Blind, Utah Office of Rehabilitation, and Helen Keller National Center have partnered together to host a one-night only, FREE screening of Feeling Through at the Broadway Centre Cinemas, 7pm on Tuesday, July 16th. Feeling Through is the first film ever to feature a DeafBlind actor in a lead role. SLFS will jointly screen the short film as well as its companion documentary on the making of the film and the experience of this first-time actor. Post screening, there will be an opportunity for an insightful panel discussion with members of the local DeafBlind community alongside the filmmaker, Doug Roland. All individuals are invited to celebrate this historic milestone for the deafblind community. To ensure equal access to this event, all requests for accommodations must be submitted by July 1st. We cannot guarantee any requests submitted after the deadline.
