Dentists must learn to diagnose conditions correctly in order to accomplish treatment goals. Two-dimensional radiographs have been the standard by which dentists have based their diagnostic decision making. With the advancements in radiographic imaging, this methodology has proven to be flawed and creates mistakes in under and over diagnosing.
