Quilting Workshop: Colored Pencil on Fabric

This demonstration will encompass using color pencils on fabrics for quilting.

* Required information

Required Materials List

  • • 1 Fat Quarter 18” x 22” 100% cotton white or off white or a preprinted black and white fabric that the white areas can be colored. Please iron on Pellon SF101 as a backer. You can find Pellon SF101at most fabric stores including JoAnn’s.

  • • Colored Pencils name brands that work best are Derwent Intense and they can be found at Target, JoAnn’s, Amazon, and local art supply stores. Also, Prismacolor pencils work well and can be found online, and local stores mentioned above. Do not feel like you need to purchase a huge range of colors. Colors can be blended.

  • • Fabric medium can be found online at local stores.

  • • Small paint brushes, nothing fancy or expensive. A single brush from JoAnn’s or Walmart will work.
