Institutional Decline and Demographic Change in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia

Recent policies and practices of “decline” have shaped what, where, and who Philadelphia’s Catholicism is. This talk will look beyond parish closures to examine the impact of other archdiocesan policies of decline (school closures and church relegations) in shaping the institutional presence and demographic composition of the 21st century church.
