Fall 2022/Spring 2023 Home School Registration

Join us for our 2022/2023 homeschool academic year. Each monthly class is offered on the 2nd Thursday and 3rd Wednesday September - May 10am-noon. All classes have an indoor and outdoor component. Classes are for ages 6-12 years old.

Thursday Sept 8, 2022 -Dragonflies & Damselflies: Jeweled Flyers of the Wetland

The wetland is the ideal habitat for many species of these amazing flying insects! Students will learn about these creatures and then head out on the boardwalk on a safari to see how many of them they can observe.

Thursday Oct 13, 2022-Amphibians & Reptiles: Slimy or Scaly?

Students will learn the differences and similarities between reptiles and amphibians. Students will take a walk on the boardwalk to observe amphibians. This class includes live snakes!

Thursday Nov 10 2022 Trek to the Trinity!

Students will take a 1.8 mile walk to the East Fork of the Trinity River learning about the history of the wetland property along the way! This is the only class that is NOT accessible by strollers or wheelchairs.

Gills, lungs, or breathing tubes? Students will collect macroinvertebrates from the wetland water and learn the fascinating variety of breathing adaptations that creatures posses to get the oxygen they need to survive.
