Empty Bowls began as a grassroots movement by artists and crafts people in cities and towns around the world to raise money for food-related charities. Persons purchase a ceramic bowl, paint or decorate it, and then donate it to a charity, which auctions off the bowls in order to raise money to be used to fight poverty, homelessness, and hunger.
