This is the Registration Form for the Mustang Western Days Parade to be held Saturday, September 9th, 2023 at 10:00 am.

ATTENTION: Disregarding any rules and regulations may place entry at risk of not being invited back to next year’s parade.
RULES: 1. JUMPING ON OR OFF A MOVING FLOAT/VEHICLE IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
RULES: 2. DISTRIBUTION OF ANY ITEMS MUST BE CONDUCTED ALONG THE CURB IN A SAFE MANNER. DISTRIBUTION OF ANY ITEMS MUST NOT SLOW DOWN PARADE ENTRY AND PREVENT ENTRY FROM KEEPING PACE WITH THE PARADE.
RULES: 3. THROWING ITEMS IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
RULES: 4. COLLECTION OF MONEY, FUNDRAISING OR SOLICITING OF ANY TYPE FROM THE PARADE ENTRY IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Business booth spaces are available to rent at the Western Days show site from which fundraising efforts may take place. Mail application in early as spaces will be filled before the Business Booth Application due date arrives.
RULES: 5. ENTRY MUST KEEP PACE WITH PARADE, MAINTAIN A MINIMUM DISTANCE OF 10 FEET AND MAXIMUM DISTANCE OF 20 FEET FROM ENTRY AHEAD OF ENTRY.
RULES: 6. THE PARADE ROUTE WILL BE MONIITORED BY WESTERN DAYS SAFETY MARSHALLS. PLEASE RESPECTFULLY HONOR ALL REQUESTS FROM THE SAFETY MARSHALL.
RULES: 7. FLOAT entries must provide AT LEAST 3 SPOTTERS, including one to ride in the cab with the driver, and one spotter to walk along each side of the float. 8. HAVE FUN AND BE SAFE!
REGULATIONS 1 & 2: 1. Check-in time (8:00 – 9:15) Parade line-up numbers will be available at the parade check-in desk in the parking lot of Security Solutions (U-Change Lock), located at the SE corner of the intersection of HWY 92 & HWY 152. Except for HORSES – Horses check-in at horse staging area AFTER 8:30 am. Horse staging area is located ¼ mile east of Czech Hall Road and West of Silver Drive on the South side of HWY 152. The check-in area at Security Solutions (U-Change Lock) parking lot may NOT be used to decorate floats, drop-off children, park vehicles or be used as a meeting place for large groups. A pre-arranged meeting place for large groups is recommended. The group leader should pick up the parade entry number; then make sure the entry is in the correct order on the parade route. 2. Parade numbers must be displayed on the inside upper driver’s side windshield of the vehicle. This will insure proper visibility for announcing the entry from the review stand.
REGULATIONS 3 & 4: 3. CHECK-IN CLOSES AND LINE-UP BEGINS @ 9:15 AM. PARADE ENTRIES SHOULD BE IN POSITION BY 9:30 A.M. Parade numbers are staked along the south side of HWY 152 beginning at Czech Hall Road and ending around HWY 92. Antique Cars will line up in the East Parking lot of The Bridge (aka Assembly of God Church). 4. Parade numbers are only distributed from Check-In on the Day of the Parade.
JUDGING CRITERIA: » There are five categories of Parade entries that will be judged: Vehicles, Nonprofit Floats, Student Floats, Commercial Floats, and Equestrian Entries. » Other categories that do not get judged include: Government Vehicles, VIPs, Teachers of the Year, Bands, and Student (Drill Teams, Cheerleading, and Walking Groups). » Entries will be scored from 1 to 10 based on the following criteria: Creativity, Workmanship, Theme – “Just Peachy”. » Results will be posted on the Mustang Chamber of Commerce social media sites Saturday evening: www.mustangchamber.com, www.mustangwesterndays.com, Facebook, and Twitter.
IMPORTANT DISPERSAL INSTRUCTIONS There will be no disbursement from trucks or trailers on State Highway 152 at the end of the parade. All entries with people on them must exit either north to Trade Center Terrace (cars & commercial vehicles) or south to Chalyn Drive (floats, walkers, horses) and proceed to a safe parking area. Disperse after moving out of all way of traffic on these streets and parking. * Parents – please pick up your children at Mustang Elementary, NOT McDonald’s. Mustang Police Department and the Oklahoma National Guard will be present to enforce this rule.
The Mustang Western Days Committee Reserves the Right To Refuse Entry To Any Person Or Group. City Municipal Code: Article 3, Section10-85b (Parades. For the safety and welfare of the spectators and participants, no one shall be allowed to throw from a float or moving vehicle any candy or other items along a parade route. Code 1977, § 5.30.040; Ord. No. 1093, § 1, 9-3-2013) and will include the consequences for being caught throwing candy from the parade route.
