        Experts say that human trafficking is expected to overtake illegal drug       activity as the top illicit crime worldwide. There are nearly 21 million victims annually in what is a $32 biliion industy. The internet and social media are fueling the rapid growth.

Session 1**  Tuesday, January 22: "Familial Trafficking in the US" - Kelly Dore, Survivor and Thriver. Due to snow this first session has been rescheduled to Monday, February 25

Our first session's Speaker: Kelly Dore is a survivor of familial trafficking. She is the Executive Director of the National Human Trafficking Survivor Coalition, Survivor Advocate, TEDx Speaker and Legislative Liason to Congress. Kelly owns a counseling practice, is a businesswoman, and a former Colorado legislator. She has worked with the Obama and Trump administrations and is the Legislative Liason for United Against Slavery. She is also an Ambassador for Shared Hope International.

Session 2  Tuesday, January 29: "The Scope of Human Trafficking in our County" - Sunshyne Powell, MA, LPCC; Department of Human Services, El Paso County                                             TED Talk:"Three ways Businesses can fight Sex Trafficking"    

Session 2 Speaker: Sunshyne Powell, MA, LPCC; has worked with at risk youth since the age of 18 when she became a Big Sister for the Big Brothers, Big Sisters program. This experience inspired her to work with at risk youth for the rest of her career. She worked in a residential treatment facility for 3 years before coming to El Paso County Department of Human Services, where she has served youth and their families for the last 13 years.She combats human trafficking in our community as a member of the Metro Area Sex Trafficking Task Force. She has a master's degree in Community Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University.

Session 4   Monday, February 11: "Protecting Our Precious Cargo" -  Transportation Agencies: Truckers Against Trafficking - Molly Griffith;Sherry Saehlenou, Airline Ambassador                     "Recogning and Reporting Human Trafficking"
