The Great Smoky Mountains Photography Summit

The peak of color season in the Great Smoky Mountains with some of the best nature and wildlife photographers in the business? Yes, that is the first annual Great Smoky Mountains Photography Summit.  Five days of learning from, shooting with, being inspired by, and getting to know some of the greatest nature & wildlife photographers in the industry! Never before have we had so many of them all in one place at one time....something you definitely do not want to miss!

We will be going out into the field to shoot and capture some of the most breathtaking color of the year.  There will be a variety of opportunities to shoot with many of the pros.  There will be a myriad of classroom breakout sessions along with a few large group sessions including our keynote address by Scott Kelby.  We have a rare and wonderful opportunity to hear about the career of Len Rue, Sr. from a first hand account.  He has not taught or spoken to a group in five years, so we are honored that he will be joining us.  There will be panel discussions, presentations from the pros about their careers, and a variety of technical information for all levels of photographers.

Our base camp will be Tremont Lodge and Resort in Townsend, Tennessee.  Tremont is located just a couple of miles from the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  While allowing us to host all of the sessions and meetings on site at the convention center, the nature of the property, situated on 16 acres on the "quiet side of the Smokies", will allow plenty of informal networking and getting to know each other.  We even have some bonfire experiences planned on the lawn, weather permitting.

It doesn't matter your level of photographic knowledge or what kind of equipment you use, there is something at the Summit for everyone who loves the outdoors and photography.  We plan to have several vendors on hand and even some rental equipment if you want to try something different.  We will be emailing everyone who registers with a list of suggested equipment to bring and other updates as they are released.

Accommodations:  If you are staying at the host hotel, Tremont Lodge and Resort, you will receive a 20% discount off your room rate for the days of the Summit.  Please mention that you are attending the Summit when you register.  You can call 865-448-3200 to book accommodations with Tremont Lodge and Resort and please visit www.tremontlodge.com along with their facebook page for a preview of the property and accommodations.
