Genealogy: An Introduction
with Craig Siulinski
CGS is proud to offer a free class each month for beginners teaching basic methods & terms. We'll discuss resources available, online & offline, common & uncommon records, and how to find more. Includes a tour of our extensive library holdings.
In this two hour class you will not find your first ancestor to step foot in America, but you will leave with an idea of how to find them. We'll show you how to get started and give you some tips & tricks about researching online.
Some of the things we'll cover in this class:
* create a pedigree chart
* using free and subscription websites
* learn how to get all of the information from a U.S. Census record
*and more!
Parking is free on Saturdays in the parking lot behind the library.
