NACCTFO workshops will be held at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel located across the street from the Omni Shoreham Hotel where a block of sleeping rooms is being held from February 23 - 26. The NACo Legislative Conference will be held at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel and registration is now available. If you are planning to attend both NACCTFO and NACo, you will need to make two reservations, but you can remain at the Omni for your entire stay since it is a NACo hotel. Morning Session: 8:00 am - 11:00 am Transparency in County Government
Governments have been under pressure to increase their transparency, particularly for financial information. Treasurers are definitely part of this equation. In this session, we will explore the why and how of transparency, with a focus on how treasurers may use transparency to operate more effectively, efficiently, and equitably.

Pesentation by the Secret Service on recent trends in counterfeiting, followed by a tour of the Bureau of Engraving. Guests may attend if space permits. If you would like for your guest to attend, please email their name to Info@NACCTFO.org.

Running meetings using parliamentary procedure is a puzzle to most, yet doing so is very important to ensure that meetings run effectively and with appropriate decorum. This interactive session will provide an introduction to the procedure.

Afternoon Session: 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm Lobbying: Organizational and Personal Strategies
Lobbying is considered by some to be a four-letter word, but it is a necessary process to get one’s point across. In this session, we will focus on the best techniques for you and your association to use to help legislators and council members understand your office’s needs.
