Civil & Criminal Tax Penalties

Whether a tax professional is making a return, representing a taxpayer under audit, or gearing up for trial before the Tax Court, he or she must recognize what triggers a civil penalty assessment and/or referral for criminal prosecution.

Although a tax professional can attend this as a stand-alone workshop, it is part of the A & A Tax Controversy series.  The goal of each component of the series is to:

(1) Discuss best practices for tax professionals interested in tax controversy/representation, and

(2) Prepare for the USTC Exam.

Each seminar and the series are free!

Tax Professionals that attend the seminar and/or the series are encouraged to accept a pro bono tax controversy case assignment from Rutgers Law School, a Low-Income Tax Clinic, VITA, an ABA-sponsored Tax Court Pro Bono program and/or Taxpayers Assistance Corporation.
