LOCATION: MST along Blue Ridge Parkway from Elk Pasture Gap (BRP mile 405.5) to Beaver Dam Gap Overlook (BRP mile 401.7)
TIME: Meet at 1 pm on Saturday, September 7
HIKE DESCRIPTION: This portion of the MST follows the old Shut-in Trail which is the bridle trail constructed by the Vanderbilt family to reach their Buck Springs hunting lodge near Mt. Pisgah. It crosses 3 Blue Ridge Parkway overlooks with great views and we can expect to see late summer wildflowers along the way.
