Presented twice each year by the CCC Accessibility Center and Information Security Center, the workshops are geared specifically toward California Community Colleges personnel:
- IT administrators, managers and specialists
- IT accessibility specialists
- Procurement/business services
- Disability services directors and staff
- Faculty training and support
The workshops are open only to CCC personnel and approved partners. CCC personnel: Please register using your college or district email address if you have one. We reserve the right to deny workshop access to any unapproved registrants.

With a theme of "Why Accessibility Matters," this workshop will focus on U.S. Section 508 standards for Information and Communication Technology. ASL interpreting will be included for this workshop.

The Vision for Success is the cornerstone of the California Community Colleges's effort to improve student outcomes. The adoption of accessible Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) impacts outcomes for all students, but moreso for people who have a disability. As we focus on reducing achievement gaps and improving completion rates, ensuring equal access to technology gives each student their best chance to be successful.
This session will cover how accessibility barriers impact students with disabilities, the basic steps in an accessible ICT procurement process, and how Equally Effective Alternate Access Plans (EEAAPs) help ensure access.

DEI initiatives and principles are not complete without the inclusion of disability. Leaving disability out of DEI efforts marginalizes the millions of individuals with disabilities. Recognizing the intersectionality of disability and other identities is imperative to creating an environment that is truly equitable and inclusive. This workshop session will discuss DEIA principles and how they differ from DEI, and how to foster an environment that does not treat disability and accessibility as an afterthought or inconvenience.

Social media has become essential to how we communicate and interact online. Creating accessible content will help you reach a wider audience, create an inclusive environment, and reduce barriers to communication. This session will cover why accessible social media content is essential, how to create accessible content for various disabilities, and best practices to improve accessibility on social media platforms such as Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.

This is not clickbait! Did you know that five basic accessibility issues account for nearly 90 percent of all accessibility errors on the web? An institution’s website is a public representation of its values and often the first point of contact for prospective students. In this session, participants will learn about the importance of accessible websites, understand how people with disabilities use the web, review the five common accessibility issues, and learn impactful steps to improve accessibility at their own institution.

MiraCosta College faculty and staff provide a variety of implemented initiatives that support an institutional goal to provide equitable access to all students. This presentation will provide insight into how this progress was made, what barriers were overcome, as well as reflection on the fact that while progress has been made, there is still room to improve.

Educational organizations are common targets for cybercriminals to impersonate for malicious purposes. This presentation will cover the email security protocol known as Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance (DMARC), and how to use it to protect your domain from spam, phishing, and spoofing, and increase mail delivery rates and domain reputation.
