News Seminar and Maine Association of Broadcasters Awards Gala 2017

You're invited! On September 23, the Maine Association of Broadcasters will celebrate the Best of the Best of Maine broadcasting.

Starting at 2:00 p.m., join Deborah Potter of NewsLab for a two-part session for journalists: 

      > Better Broadcast Writing:  Journalists today have to make information available when and where the audience wants it, but sharing the same content on multiple platforms just doesn't work.  This session will show you how to broadcn your reach by tailoring stories for your online and social audience. 

     > Storytelling Across Platforms:  You want your stories to be meaningful and memorable, but sometimes they fall short.  Could it be that the writing is too flabby to make an impression?  This session will teach you how to write leaner and cleaner.  Put your broadcast writing on a diet and improve your stories overnight! 

At 5:00 p.m., we'll have a reception and dinner, the MAB annual meeting, and the awards gala. Who will take home the gold this year?
