WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Nurses, Dietitians, and Other Practitioners
ABOUT THE COURSE: This curriculum provides essential information for working with people who have pre-diabetic or diabetic conditions with a focus on those with special needs. RRTI and instructor Gary Anello, RN, MSN, CDE will offer this 2-hour course on Wednesday, February 8th from 10:00AM-12:00PM. This training meets the requirement for diabetic education of RN’s contained in NYS OPWDD Administrative Directive 2003-01.
This training for nurses, dietitians, and other practitioners will provide information on the following topics:
- Coping with Diabetes: Strategies and More - A closer look into helping those with Pre-Diabetes/Diabetes deal with the daily and long term disease management using several methods to develop and utilize support teams effectively.
- Meal Planning Structure and Design - Introduction into personalized nutritional strategies for better glycemic control and lifestyle modification.
