Program: Pipeline Damage - Emergency Response and Repair.
Description: Even the most well-designed and well-constructed pipelines are susceptible to damage. This presentation will examine Cape Fear Public Utility Authority's response to a pipeline failure deep beneath a tidal creek to offer insights on:
- Initial containment procedures and operational adjustments to prevent releases from a damaged pipline.
- Temporary bypass pipeline construction and operation.
- Executing the repair: alternatives evaluation, regulatory requirements, and procurement.

Matt Tribett, PE, Assistant Operations Director, Cape Fear Public Utility Authority
Matt Tribett is a professional engineer and land surveyor with experience focused on water utility engineering. He is an Assistant Operations Director with the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority (CFPUA), leading CFPUA's linear asset groups in the planning, construction, operation, and maintenance of CFPUA's water distribution system, wastewater collection system, and pump stations.
