CFS Webinar "Findings from a Student Loan Debt Repayment Counseling Program"

The Center for Fiancial Security is excited to kick off our Fall 2015 Webinar Series with a presentation by the Center for Excellence in Financial Counseling (CEFC) at the University of Missouri-St. Louis’ School of Public Policy and Administration.  CEFC was founded and funded to develop ways of improving the quality and effectiveness of education and counseling that is available to consumers in financial distress.

This webinar will present an overview and findings of the CEFC's  Student Loan Debt Repayment Counseling Program. This pilot program was developed to help consumers behind on the repayment of their federal and private student loans, and who, as a result, may have fewer opportunities for financial advancement. As the first such program in the country to help low- to moderate-income borrowers make informed choices about managing student loan debt, this webinar will present timely and unprecedented information at a point when nearly 7 million borrowers are in default on repayment of their federal student loans according to the Department of Education.

Presenter:
