IPCP Building Skills for Effective Teams (BSET)

When is the Building Skills for Effective Teams (BSET) being held?

This yearlong Building Skills for Effective Teams (BSET) Program will include four 2.5 day workshops focused on providing and practicing in real-time an expanded set of skills and abilities needed to develop, lead and be part of effective inter-professional teams.  These workshops will be combined with ongoing coaching by trained coaches and a capstone project.  The BSET dates for 2013-2014 will be: December 5-7, 2013; February 27-28 & March 1, 2014; May 1-3, 2014; and June 26-28, 2014 TBD. Participant teams must attend all four BSET workshops, for the curriculum is integrated and builds on itself over time.

What will I learn in this workshop?

The BSET Program will cover a wide range of subjects and skills aimed at developing the team-specific skills that are essential to the operations of an affective IPCP healthcare team.  The content will be presented by expert faculty using a variety of teaching styles and presentation formats, including group activities, role playing, team exercises and more.

  ·  Teams training experience – Low and High Ropes course

  ·  Coaching
              ·  Team Assessments (EI, DISC, and Team)
              ·  Team Development and Functions of a Team
              ·  PCMH Implementation

              ·  Trust and Difficult Circumstances
              ·  Influencing

The administration fee for the 2013-2014 BSET workshops will be $200 (includes all four workshops). Registration is not considered complete until payment is received.  The due date for payment is November 28, one week before the workshop.  If payment has not been received by this date, the registration will be released.  If payment is received in the last week AND there is space available the participant may join the class.  If payment has not been received by the day of class, the participant will not be allowed to attend, even if space is available.  Cancellation that occurs less than 30 days but before the first day of the workshop will incur a $25 cancellation fee.

Attendance

Participants must be present for all hours of the BSET.  For a "no-show" or if a participant misses more than 2 hours, they will not be allowed to continue in the BSET.  There will be no partial make-up arrangements made and no refund of tuition funds will occur.
