Navigating the Road to Green Building

National Lumber is a Certified Green Dealer, FSC certified, and an EPA Lead-Safe certified firm. Through our Professional Remodelers Organization (PRO Force) program we provide various training seminars to our members and customers.

We've heard from many remodelers and contractors seeking answers in dealing with green building issues, and in response we've arranged this seminar where you will get some current and updated information. Our speakers will cover the following topics:
  1. Building Science Keynote speaker Peter Yost (Bio), technical director of Green Building Advisor, covers how green building, building science, quality and durability all fit together.
  2. Contracts Attorney Andrea Goldman (Bio) will discuss the legal issues of green construction and how to protect yourself with a contract that addresses the additional risk involved.
  3. Certification Daniel Glickman (Bio) of Sustainable Construction covers how to schedule and run a green certified job through one of the certification programs such as NAHB Green, LEED for Homes, Energy Star, etc.
  4. Rebates Greg Krantz and Mike Berry of Massachusetts New Homes with ENERGY STARŪ Program (www.energystarhomes.com) cover existing programs, rebates, incentives and a look at the future of homes and energy codes.

This will be a very fast-moving and informative evening from 4:00pm to 8:15pm. The program includes a hot buffet dinner. With National Lumber's sponsorship, the price for this seminar is a very economical $25.00.

Please register online by using the link below or call 508-261-6413 x818. Payment by credit card through PayPal (account not required) or check payable to National Lumber. Payment must be made in advance to reserve your seat at the seminar.
