2015 December Lacey Safer Planning Training 

Safety* (or the goal of it) is paramount to our work. And safety planning – is part of the foundation of that work to support survivors of domestic violence. Many of us have a form that often guides the conversations but have we really been able to stop and think about what goes into a survivor’s thinking and decision-making?

Join us for a chance to stop, think, and reflect about our safety planning practices and how we can better address safety as a means to autonomy and liberation. 
Together, we’ll: engage in safety planning exercises, learn about the dynamics that influence a survivor's choices about leaving or staying, and leave with concrete strategies for supporting survivors and families. 

*Earlier this year, Jill Davies helped us to embrace the concept of safer – that the true heart of meaningful advocacy is helping survivors to be safer – to experience less violence, more economic stability, and greater well-being.
