Getting There

The workshop starts in Savannah, GA and ends in Charleston, South Carolina. Both hotels are around a 30 min drive from the airports in Savannah (SAV) and Charleston (CHS). Participants who arrive by plane should consider renting a car. We will be driving in our cars from Savannah to Charleston. Carpooling is encouraged and we can help you connect with other participants to facilitate this.

For those who prefer not to drive themselves or in another participant's vehicle, a ground transportation option is now available for an additional cost. More information is provided on the registration page.

Please do not book your non-refundable airfare until notified to do so by workshop leaders.

Lodging

Lodging is not included in the workshop fee.  We will be spending 3 nights in Savannah, GA and 3 nights in Charleston, SC. A block of rooms is being held at a special rate for workshop participants in both Savannah, GA  (La Quinta Inn and Suites $105/night + taxes/fees) and Charleston, SC (Town and Country Inn and Suites $109/night + taxes/fees Thurs & Sun, $169/night+taxes/fees Fri and Sat). Rooms with either two queen beds or one king bed are available.

If you are a solo traveller and would like to be matched with a roommate, please let us know.

Can I bring
a companion along?

Of course, they'll love it! We realize that this is an appealing destination even if you are not a photographer.

Registered partipants are welcome to bring a non-participating companion on the trip for approximately 1/4 price. Companions are welcome to join us at photography field sessions and workshop social activities like meals, but will not attend classroom sessions or receive instruction. If your travel companion doesn't wish to join us except for evening meals, a companion fee is not necessary.

Our lodging locations are convenient to both downtown Savannah and Charleston and your travel companion can take advantage of all the historic walks, shopping, dining and other activities that the area offers while you are involved with the workshop activities.
