How Urban Design Affects Property Values

with Andrew Burleson

Andrew Burleson

Andrew Burleson is the principal of Fourth Environment, LLC, a real estate development and urban design consultancy in Houston, TX. Fourth Environment focuses on small developers, providing financial analysis, due diligence, site planning, urban design, and entitlement services. For these developers, Fourth Environment acts as a "project manager for hire." Andrew is a long-time member of the Congress for the New Urbanism, is CNU Accredited, and serves as the President of the CNU Houston chapter.

In this presentation, Andrew will explain what makes urban land valuable and how our built-environment affects property values. He'll introduce the Net Attraction Framework, a model that identifies patterns in the relationship between design and value. Andrew will also compare the return on investment on public projects that emphasize quality of design versus projects that don't.
