Clark State Community College in partnership with Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs will offer a FREE summer manufacturing camp for students ages 12 through 16.
The camp will be offered June 3 – June 7 at the main campus of Clark State in Springfield, space is limited to 12 students. Students will learn to use 3D modeling software to design and print a TIC-TAC-TOE board and pegs. Students will then have the option to machine a metal version of the board and program a robot to "play" a game of TIC-TAC-TOE. Students will get to take home all of the projects they create.
Students will utilize 3D modeling software, 3D printing/additive manufacturing, manual mill, manual lathe, robotics, CNC mill, CNC lathe, CAD/CAM, and artistic design skills for hands-on activities, including the creation of a product from start to finish using manufacturing techniques and equipment. Local manufacturers will also give presentations, and camp participants will visit local manufacturing facilities.
