Course Description
This presentation is intended to provide guidance with respect to criminal actions in the bankruptcy arena. The speakers presenting this topic include A. Brian Albritton, former U.S Attorney for the Middle District of Florida, and Chris Poor, current Special Assistant United States Attorney. Our guest panelists will discuss specific procedures in the prosecution of bankruptcy crimes and will explain the investigation process, the sentencing guidelines, as well as the impact and involvement of creditors, among other things. The presentation will include a discussion on an attorney’s ethical obligations when conflicts arise as a result of criminal behavior as well as attorney actions resulting in criminal charges. Our panel will also introduce the recent trends in investigating and pursuing these crimes.
