These two simple words, be nice., are recognized throughout West Michigan. What do they mean? In this presentation, Christy will help us gain a better understanding of mental illness and how the be nice. Action Plan can be implemented daily to change, improve and save lives. 

In this program, we will learn the 4 steps in the be nice. Action Plan: 

• NOTICE to recognize signs and symptoms of a mental health disorder. 
• INVITE to start a caring conversation to get help. 
• CHALLENGE the stigma of mental illness and provide information and resources to get help. 
• EMPOWER to help someone who is struggling. 

With over 31 years of experience in mental health, Christy passionately leads the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan. Her desire for transforming and saving lives through mental health education led her to develop two classroom programs - be nice. and Live Laugh Love. Christy and her staff have educated thousands of individuals each year through their education programs and other various speaking engagements and presentations throughout Michigan.
