Apocalypse Now?
Join us as we kick off our 2016 "Conversations on the Green" with two of the country’s most respected political experts:
E.J. Dionne & Charlie Cook
A nationally known commentator on politics, E.J. Dionne appears weekly on National Public Radio and regularly on MSNBC. He also is a regular guest on "News Hour with Jim Lehrer" and other PBS programs. A senior fellow with the Brookings Institution, his latest book is "Why the Right Went Wrong: Conservatism-From Goldwater to the Tea Party and Beyond.” Dionne began his career with New York Times and started his column in The Post in 1993. He has written several award winning books, including "They Only Look Dead: Why Progressives Will Dominate the Next Political Era," "What's God Got to Do with the American Experiment," "Bush v. Gore," "Stand Up Fight Back: Republican Toughs," "Democratic Wimps, and the Politics of Revenge," and "Our Divided Political Heart: The Battle for the American Idea in an Age of Discontent."
Charlie Cook is Editor and Publisher of the Cook Political Report, a columnist for the National Journal Group, and a Political Analyst for NBC News. He is considered one of the nation’s leading independent, non-partisan authorities on American politics and U.S. elections. In 2010, Cook was a co- recipient of the American Political Science Association’s prestigious Carey McWilliams award to honor “a major journalistic contribution to our understanding of politics.” He founded the Cook Political Report in 1984 and it has become one of Washington’s most trusted sources for analysis of U.S. elections and political trends. Over the years Cook has served as a political analyst for NBC News and has appeared on NBC’s Meet the Press and ABC’s This Week, among many other prominent national programs.
