LGBTQ+ Best Practices Training
Pride Center of Vermont, Vermonters Taking Action Against Cancer (VTAAC) and You First VT invite you to attend the LGBTQ+ Best Practices Trainings on May 25!
The trainings will cover a brief overview of identity development, provide exercises to distinguish and understand the components of the LGBTQ acronym, facilitate a discussion around pronouns, discuss how to normalize conversations regarding personal pronouns and will review the minority stress model. The trainings will also hold a wrap-up conversation where participants identify best practices when working with LGBTQ clients using all of their newly gained information.
Who could benefit from this training?
- VTAAC members and partners
- Public Health Professionals
- You First partners
- Anyone interested in supporting LGBTQ+ Vermonters
This training will be led by kell arbor (warrior/they). kell is the Director of Health & Wellness Programs at Pride Center of Vermont, where they supervise lived-experience outreach groups and provide trainings to service providers on LGBTQIA+ Best Practices. kell has an MA in Whole Systems Design and has been facilitating learning on sexuality and gender for over 25 years in New England. Warrior enjoys reading, cooking, bike riding, and water side lounging in their free time.
If you're looking to register for the May 2 LGBTQ+ Best Practices Training instead (both sessions cover the same material), please click HERE to be redirected to the May 2 registration page.
