Intentional Interim Ministry Retreat

What:         The Once-Again-Annual Retreat for Intentional Interim Pastors of the California-Nevada-Hawaii, Pacific Southwest and Northwest Districts of the LCMS

Where:        St. Anthony Retreat Center in Three Rivers, California

When:         January 16-18, 2023 (Monday noon through Wednesday noon)

Program:    God at Work – Our 2KG Citizenship, “Spiritual First Responder” Discipleship for the Sake of the Culture and the Mission of the Church

Speaker:      The Rev. Dr. Gregory P. Seltz, PhD (Executive Director, Lutheran Center For Religious Liberty, Washington D.C.)

The American context in the 21st century is increasingly antagonistic to the message and ministry of the Church. These lectures delineate the attacks on the religious liberty of the Church and the present cultural/political challenges to the Church in the American context. These presentations also describe the incredible opportunity that such challenges create for a robust, Two-Kingdom engagement for the sake of the culture and the mission of the Church. Indeed, the Church must exercise its unique voice, putting our temporal liberties to work for the sake of sharing the eternal liberties of Christ.

  • For those who may have a true financial hardship, you may contact your own district office for possible assistance.
  • For those who have an IIM contract with your congregation, please review it.  Your congregation may have agreed to pay for some continuing education.
  • Our devotion times are special opportunities to hear from our colleagues who lead us in reflecting together on God’s Word and his provision in our ministries.  Tuesday evening is a treasured time together, as we gather to hear the Word and receive the Lord’s Supper. • We will have opportunity to dig into a Critical Incident shared by a colleague.  As always, this will be a rich learning experience.

  • Our three West Coast District Presidents will again join us according to their availability.
  • So that an accurate count can be given to St. Anthony’s Retreat Center, please register by Friday, December 9, 2022. (Please note that there will be an additional late fee of $50 if you register after December 9.)
