Indianapolis Chapter CSI April 2018 Meeting:

Corporate Mindfulness

The Indianapolis Chapter of CSI, in conjunction with the 2018 Great Lakes Region Conference, is having its April Chapter Meeting at Crown Plaza Union Station, in the Ballroom, on Thursday, April 19 from 5:30pm-8:30pm.
Please Note that the standing reservation list will NOT apply for this month. Everyone will have to register for this meeting so that we can get the most accurate number for the venue.

Research has found that the average employee in corporate America today is stressed and is pre-conditioned to multi-tasking, which has significant drawbacks to productivity, despite our society's obsession with the ability to multi-task. However, those with a “mindfulness focus” of some sort, tend to be more productive and creative, make fewer mistakes, and are generally happier and better with their co-workers. Learn why Fortune 100 companies, Congress, and many schools have integrated mindfulness training into their organizations.  This workshop is key for helping employees be more productive and happier. There is a 10-page handout that goes along with the presentation.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

-1) What is Mindfulness? Review working definitions and discuss how mindfulness is being incorporated in health care settings, schools, athletics, corporations, etc..

-2) The Science of the Brain. Describes the science to help attendees understand the neuroscience and research being done.

-3) The Role of Balance. Discuss multi-tasking do's and don'ts with an interactive exercise. Discuss the 4 P's of pivot, presence, pacing, and prioritize.

-4) The Role of Habits. Delve into three ways of experiencing our lives and provide a handout with "brain training" exercises.

-5) The Role of Movement. Participate in a short demonstration of simple movements that can be integrated into your day to calm your mind.

- 6) How to apply this knowledge in a practical way. Discuss three daily practices to incorporate Mindfulness as a gateway to health.
