'Gene Fitzpatrick Memorial 'Golfing for Goldens' Charity Event
The Golden Retriever Rescue Club of Charlotte, Inc. (GRRCC) will host its 16th Annual “Golfing for Goldens” charity golf tournament on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Carolina Lakes (Sun City Golf Club) in Indian Land, South Carolina beginning at 1:00 PM. Registration will begin at Noon.
Beginning this year, this annual fund raising event will be renamed to The Gene Fitzpatrick Memorial GRRCC Charity Golf Tournament. Gene was the President of the Golden Retriever Rescue Club of Charlotte for 11 years and his love of golf and goldens made this one of his very favorite events. Sadly, Gene was taken from us too early, due to cancer, and GRRCC has renamed this event to honor his leadership and dedication to GRRCC.
The tournament format is a four-person Captain’s Choice with a shotgun start. Registration is only $125 per player ($400 per team) and includes golf, range balls, cash prizes for low gross and low net. The 2nd and 3rd place low gross and low net will win rounds of golf. Mulligans will be sold separately the day of the event: (4) for $20. There will also be a Closest to the Pin and Long Drive Contest.
This year in an effort to make this the greatest tournament ever, we are asking for each club member's help. Please contact friends, golf buddies, work associates, or any contacts to ask if they are willing to donate goods and or services to be used as prizes.
Also ask if they would like to sponsor a tee area or green area. Tee and green areas appear on each golf cart's GPS screen as the players approach. These sponsorships are $125 each or both tee and green areas for $200.
Rounding out the event will be a raffle and silent auction for a number of valuable items. Cost also includes a box lunch from Jocks and Jills and a dinner provided by TBD.
Deadline for player registration is Thursday, May 31. There will be a 120 player maximum so register early.

Donations and fund-raising events allow us to care for and find loving homes for unwanted, orphaned and stray Golden Retrievers from all over the Charlotte and Western NC region.
