WOW! for Kids: Reptiles and Amphibians

Meet turtles and snakes up close for a kid-friendly live animal encounter in our Gallery!

Discover live native reptiles and amphibians face-to-face - including turtles, lizards, and snakes - led by Megan Hoffman, environmental educator at Hudson Highlands Nature Museum, aided by tactile objects like shells, eggs, and skins of these fascinating New York creatures.

Megan will guide the audience through a fun and informative interactive program, tailored to the attending audience. She will take learners of all ages through a number of relevant topics:

  • Similarities and differences of Reptiles and Amphibians
  • Life cycles
  • Specialized adaptations
  • Habitats
  • New York State wild populations
  • Conservation

Special attention will be given to the experiences these animals face in the wild, and ways the community can help with conservation efforts.
