Redistricting: What's At Stake, How It Will Affect Georgia and What's the Role of the Media

The Georgia General Assembly will come together later this summer and create political boundaries defining where you live for the next ten years. This process is not about an invisible district line – it is about defining your community, your neighbors and your political representation. It will determine how you are represented in each of the different levels of government – from the local to the federal levels.

 This panel conversation presented by The League of Women Voters of Georgia and The Atlanta Press Club will focus on the redistricting process in Georgia, the effects on the political process, avenues for public engagement and education, and expectation of fairness and transparency from our elected officials tasked with redrawing the lines.
