Oktoberfast 2015

With our success in 2014, we have been invited to show our cars at The Village in Meridian again. We will be filling the tree lined village streets bordered by buildings designed with European style architecture. Nearby is a plaza which includes a world class show fountain; not to mention restaurants and shops. Live music by the Big Wow Band will fill the Beer Garden.

If you are new to Oktoberfast, this is our club's annual car show for Porsche owners and enthusiasts (video from 2014). You do not have to be a club member to show your car, but you might find yourself wanting to join by the end of the show. All models of Porsche cars are invited and your daily driver is just as welcome as a dedicated show car. New cars will be on display by Porsche of Boise.

If you are showing a car, you can expect the following

• Car show is from Noon to 4:00pm on Sunday, October 11; please arrive between 10:30 and 11:30 for car placement, which will group cars by class this year
• Pre-registration fee of $25 includes a FREE Oktoberfast 2015 T-shirt and a charity raffle ticket for the Grand Prize Village $400 gift certificate; pre-registration closes October 7
• If you have multiple cars you'd like to show, additional car fee is $15 and you'll receive the above, less the T-shirt
• Participants may participate in a Poker Walk by visiting various stores to collect playing cards; best hand wins a Village gift basket
• You may register at the event (subject to space available) for a fee of $25; pre-registration is encouraged for planning purposes and to facilitate check-in at the event
• Additional shirts may be ordered with your registration and at Oktoberfast
• Souvenir logo beer mugs can be pre-ordered for $12 each (supply is limited)
• Commemorative photo of your car by Porsche of Boise will be sent to you after the event
• Cars will be judged by the show participants; trophies by usful Glassworks in each of 16 classes will be awarded at 3:30; there's a new class for Hybrid vehicles and, like last year, one for special interest vehicles related to Porsche 
• Special participant judged award for Best of Show; this car will be featured on next year's Oktoberfast poster)
• Also, Legendary NASCAR, USAC, Formula One, SCCA, 24 Hours of Le Mans and Indy 500 driver, Trans Am and Can-Am Champion George Follmer will attend again this year and be on hand to award “George’s Pick”, to the car that George would most like to drive.
  

The Silver Sage Region's charity effort will benefit Book It Forward, an organization dedicated to increasing children's access to books. Learn more about this group at the Charity Booth where they will be raffling several prizes including a $400 Village gift certificate. There is a separate raffle for Big O Tires.
