Social Media and Tobacco Cessation 

NC Prevention Partners will host a webinar on April 24th from 1-2 p.m. about incorporating the use of social media in tobacco cessation programs. The National Cancer Institute recently launched SmokefreeTXT, a tobacco cessation program for teens and young adults. Dr. Erik Augustson, a behavioral scientist in the Tobacco Control Research Branch of NCI, will be our special guest presenter and talk about the details of the new program with webinar participants. A new feature from QuitlineNC allows enrollees to get their tobacco cessation counseling online. Emily Weiser, MPH, Client Services Manager at Alere Wellbeing, the vendor for QuitlineNC, will discuss this new feature and provide talking points to share with those you refer to QuitlineNC.
