About the 2016 UN Conference
Surrounded by peace, all peoples can share the resources necessary to sustain life. On January 22, 2016 learn what the United Nations, together with individuals and organizations, aims to accomplish to make this a lasting reality
STEWARDSHIP FOR A SUSTAINABLE WORLD: Education in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
“What are the issues most personally important to you and your family?” This was the question asked by the UN survey, MyWorld2015. Millions of responses from around the world are the basis for the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) developed by the United Nations in partnership with Civil Society, and agreed to by all UN Member States at the recent SDG Summit
How can the public, private, governmental and non-profit sectors create an equal partnership addressing these 17 challenging issues?
How can you as an educator be a responsible steward for a sustainable world? What part can your students, their parents, and your community play to achieve these goals and benefit from them?
These are the issues CTAUN will be addressing at the 17th annual Conference: Stewardship for a Sustainable World: Education in the SDGs, Friday, 22 January 2016 at UN Headquarters in New York City.
The day-long event will present an overview of the global agenda and examine in more details the challenges of Ending Hunger and Taking Care of Our Earth, major concerns shared by people all over the world, and addressed in several of the Sustainable Development Goals. Renowned experts from the UN and in the field will speak on the politics of food, global food security, water, energy use, sustainable food production and climate change.
CTAUN invites educators, administrators and all concerned citizens to join in and be a part of this conversation.
