Ethics are a core aspect of our work as grant professionals. We will discuss some of the more murky ethical situations in which grant pros might find themselves and look at some tools available to guide us to an ethical course of action.

The session will include an interactive time to explore case studies and work in small groups to develop a recommendation.



Shauna O’Toole 
Director of Development
Emmaus Homes

Shauna O’Toole is a fundraising professional who has been in the field since 2015. As Director of Development for Emmaus Homes, she specializes in frontline fundraising and grant writing.  The best part of her job is watching donations turn into personal empowerment for people with developmental disabilities. Shauna holds a Master of Arts in Human Services from Liberty University. Shauna is currently President of the Grant Professionals Association St. Louis Regional Chapter and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Shauna’s passion for her career stems from her aunt, who has disabilities. When she’s not working, you can find her gardening with her husband in Wentzville, Missouri.

Fielding Jezreel
Jezreel Consulting 

Fielding Jezreel specializes in helping nonprofits plan and apply for federal grants. Using her passion for program planning, Fielding helps organizations streamline their grant funding strategy and pursue federal and other nationally competed grants. She also coaches early career grant writers.

 Fielding has worked in the grants field since 2013 and has raised over $40 million for nonprofits and government agencies. She has a Master of Social Work degree from the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis. She served three years on the board of the St. Louis Chapter of the Grant Professionals Association and continues to support the Programs Committee to develop high quality professional development opportunities for grant professionals.
