Presented in Partnership with SPEAK Inc.
This November, the Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) will host a four-part workshop series presented in partnership with SPEAK Inc. Explore the realm of debate, public speaking, and civil discourse, hone your debate skills, and find your voice in this unique program.
Engagement in public discussion on the local level is a tradition woven into the fabric of our communities in New England. But, as participation in public discussion, such as town meeting, declines so does the art of public speaking, debate, and diplomatic dissent. During this series of four workshops, SPEAK Inc. facilitators will focus on teaching the foundations of strong debate: identifying credible information, constructing arguments, considering counter evidence, and crafting persuasive speeches, through the lens of environmental issues facing our region.
Session Dates:
Session Time:
Location: VINS Nature Center, 149 Natures Way, Quechee, VT
Cost: $45 general public, $40 VINS Members
Light refreshments will be served at each session
