Student/Family Fun Run Pledge
and Donor Information Registration
Dear Friends and Families of St. Michael School,
On Friday, May 20, 2016, all St. Michael School students will participate in our second Viking Fun Run fundraising event. Students will walk, skip, jog or run laps around a ¼ mile “track” set up on the school grounds as many times as they able in a 30-minute period while enjoying music, fresh air and moving!
Funds raised by the Fun Run are used to support both St. Michael School athletic programs and learning technology investment (such as iPads, Chromebooks, SmartBoards, software, etc.) for grades K-8.You
How Do Fun Runs Fundraise?
Students raise funds in Fun Runs through individual sponsorship pledges. Pledges in the form of tax-deductible donations offered by the friends, family, neighbors and community members are given on behalf of the student to sponsor their participation in the Fun Run.
While some Fun Runs require pledges per lap or step completed, St. Michael School Fun Run participants raise money through flat sponsorships. This means the amount donated on behalf of the student PRIOR to the Fun Run is the final amount paid, regardless of the number of laps or steps completed. Friendly competitions for individual, class and team achievement (i.e., most sponsorship dollars raised, most steps completed during the Fun Run, etc.) encourage student participation and engagement.
How Do Friends and Family of SMS Students Participate?
Students can involve their family, friends, neighbors and other community members by asking for sponsor donations. To make this process easier for 2016, we are offering:
- Online pledge registration AND credit/debit card payment through the link below, from the school website, or via sharing of the web link http://tinyurl.com/smsfunrun2016
- Online pledge registration and paper check submission to the school
- Paper pledge submission using a printed form with payment attached Paper Sponsor Form
However, in order to help students reach out to family and friends, we are ALSO collecting the US Mailing Addresses and/or e-mail addresses of potential donors in order to send out paper letters and e-mail invitations on behalf of students. This is a just a different way to collect mailing labels that we have asked families to hand-write and send to the school in the past.
We will also be offering prizes again this year with tickets for a chance to win based on the number of donor contacts for US Mailing Addresses and e-mail addresses received from students/families!
Moving to online pledge, payment and donor contact submission will hopefully make it easier for everyone to share information about our event, make donations electronically (which is preferred by many now), and process the "behind the scenes" information for managing the fundraiser, crediting students with sponsor donations, etc.

SO, What's Next?
1. Use the button below to submit donor contact information (both for US Mail and electronic sponsor letters) as soon as possible for the school to create and mail or e-mail donation letters for each student.
2. You may also consider a family donation at the same time as the donor information submission using this registration tool,. (However, you may donate at a later time using the friends and family sponsor donation link.)
