Remove the Mystery of Grant Writing

For many people, applying for a grant is a complicated process that requires special skills and "inside connections."  However, in most cases, grants are awarded based on merit after a careful review process using guidelines to which everyone has access.

This class removes the veil of mystery surrounding grant-writing and provide you with a step-by-step guide for completing a solid grant proposal.

Participants will learn:

  • Proposal elements, preparation & approach
  • How to develop a proposal narrative
  • How to develop a nonprofit budget
  • Supplemental documents included with grant applications

ABOUT our Instructor:

Cheryl Smith is a Small Business Owner and Adviser in Metro Atlanta where she leverages her industry knowledge to help business owners, entrepreneurs, and nonprofits build capacity and grow or remain fiscally sound. She is also a State Approved Professional Trainer (Licensed by Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning), as well as, a SCORE Certified Mentor.

Cheryl earned her undergraduate degree at Michigan State University and her Master's degree from Kennesaw State University. Her graduate degree is in Public Administration with a concentration in Nonprofit Administration. Cheryl has spent her nonprofit career supporting children and families in various front-line, supervisory, Director and Executive Director level positions; and, she has written several federal, state, local and foundation grants in support of organizations with whichshe is aligned. Cheryl's long-standing mission is to help others reach their highest and best potential.
