Street Smart Survival 

Prerequisites/Requirements:

Geared towards high school juniors/seniors preparing to head off to college or enter the working world. Parent/legal guardian must sign a waiver. Parents/legal guardians are encouraged to stay and watch, which will afford parents/guardians the opportunity to reinforce the concepts after the training.

St. Charles Preparatory School, Robotics & Mentoring Center, 1824 E. Long St. (additional parking at St. Charles School’s main parking lot)

Course Summary:

In partnership with St. Charles Preparatory School, ARMADA Ltd. will be instructing a Street-Smart Survival Training course. This course provides students an opportunity to build confidence, reduce fear and gain awareness as it relates to every day safety and security. The course is primarily a mind-setting, planning, prevention and preparedness course. The course does include basic self-defense and “fight to escape” tactics and practical application; however, the course is NOT a comprehensive defensive tactics course.

  • Fight or Flight
  • Safety vs. Survival
  • Keys to Success
  • Weapons (general discussion about firearms, knives, chemical sprays, improvised weapons – this course does not include any live fire weapons, real edged weapons or shooting)
  • Danger Signs & Taking a Good Position
  • Basic Self Defense and “Fight to Escape” Practical Exercise & Training  
  • Active Threat Response
  • Critical Mistakes

Gear & Equipment Requirements:

Bring an open mind, fun attitude and athletic clothing appropriate for practical application exercises. Students and/or parents are encouraged to email the instructors with questions or concerns. ARMADA will provide water and basic snacks, as well as pizza options for students. Parents/guardians may want to consider packing a dinner and /or bringing items to accommodate special dietary requirements of students.

Training Cost:

St. Charles sponsored introductory cost: $50 per student
