Mercy/Justice Trip to NYC & D.C.
LEARN, EXPERIENCE, ENGAGE, and BE EMPOWERED
Participants will learn about the root causes of poverty and engage in works to eradicate the problem. They will return home with a deeper sense of responsibility; empowered to make our world better and more just.
Itinerary (subject to change)
- Saturday, August 11
- Travel from Whitefish Bay, WI to NYC by van
- Sunday, August 12
- Worship at a culturally-diverse and vibrant church in downtown NYC
- Chaperoned sight-seeing in NYC
- Monday, August 13
- SEMINAR: ACTS OF JUSTICE coordinated by the United Methodist Women, at the Center of Church across from the United Nations Headquarters
- Tuesday, August 14
- SERVICE: ACTS OF MERCY with a non-profit organization
- Travel to D.C.
- Wednesday, August 15
- SEMINAR: ACTS OF JUSTICE coordinated by the United Methodist General Board of Church & Society across from the Supreme Court on Capitol Hill
- Thursday, August 16
- Meet with congressional staff
- Visit historic sites in D.C.
- Friday, August 17
- Return to Whitefish Bay, WI
Each day will begin with morning devotion and close with a worshipful time for reflection.

Cost : $520 per person includes seminars, transportation, room and board
