On Thursday, September 26, the Partnership for Public Health will hold its Annual Meeting at Lakes Region Community College in Laconia. This year’s theme, Be Prepared… Take the Pledge, will focus on helping our community be better prepared for emergencies.
Every citizen in this country is part of a national emergency management system that is all about protection- protecting people, and property, from all types of hazards. Every citizen has a responsibility to protect themselves as well as their families. Knowing what to do before, during, and after an event is critical.
The Annual Meeting will feature a slate of expert speakers in the field of emergency planning that will share best practices for becoming better prepared in the event of a disaster. Members of the Lakes Region Teen CERT will also be on hand to talk about their experiences in preparing for and responding to a simulated local event.
In addition, the annual Community Health Partner of the Year Award will be presented to a very special individual who has made, and continues to make, significant contributions to the community that help improve the health and safety of the Lakes Region and beyond.
