January 16, 17 & 18, 2019
In partnership with ConnectEd, and the Center for Research on Educational Equity, Assessment & Teaching Excellence (CREATE) at UCSD, San Diego Unified is proud to invite you to attend an "unconventional" convention to expand the vision for college and career pathways and industry, post-secondary, and community-to-school partnerships. Through customized hands-on experiences around common problems of practice (see "Deep Dives" below), participants will explore and experience how college & career pathways and partnerships create the conditions and opportunities for students to discover their interests and build essential skills for the future.

Laying the Foundation for High-quality Pathways: This deep dive will result in a well-crafted plan to launch high-quality interdisciplinary pathways in your district. The plan will be mindful of the supports and resources needed to carry-out sustainable transformation.
Target Audience: Administrators | counselors | teacher leaders in districts or at school sites in the beginning phases of implementing interdisciplinary pathway work
Building Structures for Sustainable Success: This deep dive will result in the development of sustainable systems and structures to strengthen equity in pathways, including but not limited to a responsive master schedule, effective teaming of teachers, and teacher development.
Target Audience: Administrators | counselors | teacher leaders in districts or at school sites with established pathways aiming to improve and deepen the structures and supports that lead to effective and high-quality pathways.
Students in Action: Models of Powerful Work-Based Learning: This deep dive will result in plans to address and enhance the Elements of a High Quality Pathway, including, but not limited to, rigorous and relevant curriculum, professional development, work-based learning, and post-secondary collaboration and alignment.
Target Audience: Administrators | counselors | CTE teachers in districts or at school sites seeking to enhance the CTE experience
Expanding Horizons: Interest-Driven Industry Involved Excursions: This deep dive will result in plans to create powerful and sustainable industry, community, and post-secondary partnerships for your school and/or district.
Target Audience: Administrators | counselors | teacher leaders in districts or at school sites eager to develop sustainable partnerships
Rigorous & Relevant Project-Based Learning: This deep dive will result in a plan for implementing or improving project-based learning with rigor and relevance in your classroom, at your school site, or in your district.
Target Audience: Administrators | counselors | teachers in districts or at school sites moving towards, or in the beginning phases, of implementing interdisciplinary PBL
The Big Game: Designing for Peak Moments: This deep dive will result in the formalized processes and structures needed to motivate and empower students to assume responsibility for their learning through diverse and authentic assessments that result in students publicly showcasing learning outcomes.
Target Audience: Administrators | counselors | teacher leaders in districts or at school sites seeking to enhance engagement and motivation through student showcases.
Cost:
Early Bird Pricing $400.00 until Nov 30, 2018, Regular Registration $500
Price Includes: Lunch each day and ground transportation between the Wyndham Hotel and various locations based on the Deep Dive selected
Cancellation Fee:
If your registration is canceled after December 1, 2018 there will be a $50 cancellation fee.
Transportation:
We will provide transportation from the Wyndham Hotel to the meeting location and back.

Sea World - Jan 16, 2019
Sea World is offering our attendees the opportinity to visit the park the morning of Jan 16, 2019 prior to our event. The park will open at 10:00am and our lunch and afternoon program will be in the Pavillion at Sea World. During registration, select the option to attend the park early if you plan to take advantage of this option.
