Michael Braga is the regional investigations editor for the Sarasota Herald Tribune. In addition to the Herald Tribune he has published in U.S. News & World Report, Miami Herald, Tampa Bay Times, and other news organizations in the U.S. and South America.
Braga shared the Pulitzer Prize in Investigative Journalism in 2016 for articles about increasing incidents of injury and death in Florida’s mental hospitals. In 2019 he and his colleagues were winners of an award from the Florida Society of News Editors for a series on racial inequities in the Florida court system.
His presentation to the Cornell Club will focus on his latest work investigating Florida’s child welfare system.

1) HOT: Pan-seared mahi mahi with prosciutto, sage & white wine with lemon and pistachio rice pilaf, roasted haricot verts & baby red peppers.
2) SALAD: East Avenue Cobb: crisp romaine, diced bacon, diced tomato, black olive slices, chopped egg, crumbled bleu cheese drizzled with house-made dressing topped with soy-ginger grilled chicken breast.
3) VEGAN: Quinoa & vegetable stuffed roasted peppers with lemon & pistachio rice pilaf, roasted haricot verts & baby red peppers.
